Recently people in the United States celebrated Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July. It’s time that we all declared our own personal Independence Day.
We should all strive for financial freedom. That doesn’t mean having mansions, luxury cars and expensive clothes to show off with on social media. It means gaining freedom from financial stress.
It means freeing yourself from a paycheck mentality and living hand to mouth. It’s about putting yourself in position so you’re not forced to do things that you disagree with because you need the money.
Isn’t it time to take control of your life?
Here are a few suggestions on how to do that.
Believe that it’s possible and declare it
The first step to achieving your financial freedom is wanting to have it and believing that it’s possible for you.
Then you have to claim it and make a declaration. That this is the day that you will start taking the necessary steps to get yourself free.
You will save money.
And invest.
You will have an emergency fund.
You will increase your income.
You will get free.
Realize that you’re ultimately responsible
No one will ever care about your problems as much as you do, they can’t. You have to realize that no one else is going to fight for your independence but you. It isn’t their job, it’s yours.
You can, and must, build a team to help you reach your financial goals but you have to be the one to put the team together. And you actually have to lead the team.
You’re the one in charge. That means that you’re the one who’s responsible for everything that happens in your favor.
YOU.
Constantly repeat to yourself:
If it’s to be, it’s up to me!
Identify what exactly you need independence from
Figure out what it is that is preventing you from being free. Is it huge credit card debt that you keep adding to? Is it a shopping habit that’s making you poor? Constantly looking for retail therapy?
Identify the bad habits that are hurting your finances and list them. On paper.
Identify your enemies and declare war against them. It’s the only way to gain your independence.
Independence doesn’t come easy. Always remember that.
It’s a new day. Claim your Independence Day and declare it.
Today.
